| In this issue we focus on "Health" programs.
El Pueblo, Inc. has been training health promoters since 2004, when John Rex Endowment, a private endowment in Raleigh, funded the program 'Líderes de Salud'. Since then, El Pueblo, Inc. has trained over 130 health promoters. During this past year, El Pueblo, Inc. has been collaborating with Auger Communications to develop a series of English and Spanish photonovels on prenatal care called 'De Madre a Madre' (From Mother to Mother), designed specifically for Latinas. El Pueblo, Inc. and Auger Communications have trained four health promoters to use the photonovels as training tools to facilitate discussions among pregnant Latinas, where participants share their thoughts and experiences and everyone teaches and learns. A group of 10 Latinas were trained at Wake County Human Services and this Fall, we will be recruiting additional pregnant women to participate in these educational sessions. Community Forum in Fuquay Varina

|
| How to increase Latino men's role in the family's reproductive health issues and how to increase Access to reproductive health care services were two of the topics discussed in the Community Forum organized August 13th, by the group of El Pueblo's Líderes en Salud Reproductiva, in collaboration with a group of students from the Gillings School of Public Health from UNC. The objective of this forum was to foster community dialogue about reproductive health and to think about next steps that the community has to take in order to reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies in adults and adolescents as well as to reduce the number of sexually transmitted infections in the Latino community in North Carolina.
